5 Flattering Poses for Every Body Type
Taking pictures is not always a fun task. Standing in front of a camera can be downright frightening! It doesn’t matter what your body type is, the camera can stress anyone out. So here are some poses to help you look your best while working that camera.
Try to Relax
Being in front of the camera can be nerve-racking, but try relaxing and enjoying yourself. It’ll show in the pictures whether or not you were comfortable. Shake your body out, use props, joke, do something goofy, whatever you need to do be relaxed.
No one looks great in a fully straight on shot. Try adding movement and angles to the shot. Turn your hips, arms or head. This will not only make the picture more interesting by adding dimension, but it will show your body off naturally.
Smiling may be the last thing you want to do but try it out. However, smiling can take a picture from serious and brooding to soft and charming. Think of something funny and give your most natural smile into the lens. You might just be surprised by the results.
Not Too Posey
If you pose too hard, it can come across as being stiff. Erring on the side of natural is always best. Especially when posing with a group try and keep things natural, this means everyone shouldn’t be bending the knees and popping the butt out. Who even looks good in that pose anyway?
Use Your Legs
Don’t forget about your legs! Put those pretty legs to use, cross them, pop a knee, take a wide stance, or if you’re feeling daring maybe kick it out. Whatever you do don’t cement them to the ground.
